Another two new names for Rock Werchter 2015. On Thursday 25 June Rock Werchter is dishing out the block rockin’ beats of The Chemical Brothers and the furious but melody-rich hardcore punk of Rise Against. That means we now have nine names for the 2015 festival. Foo Fighters, The Chemical Brothers, Florence + the Machine and Rise Against on Thursday 25 June, Pharrell Williams and alt-J on Friday 26 June, Damien Rice and The War on Drugs on Saturday 27 June and, finally, Muse on Sunday 28 June. More names to follow soon.

About The Chemical Brothers:
We have a new record. The Chemical Brothers are the first in the festival's history to appear on the bill for an eighth time. The winning numbers are: 1997, 1999, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2011. On their first appearance in 1997 Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons were the closing act, and today nothing has changed for the two Brits. But that's only logical. They are party experts. No one does block rockin’ beats like they do. No one uses lasers, stroboscopes and video screens like they do. And no one fills a festival ground quite like them. Recent years have been fairly quiet, all things considered. They played records, did the odd piece for film and television and won an Ivor Novello Award for their Outstanding Song Collection. Ed Simons has another string to his bow. He's working on an academic career. And that's not without its effects. In the studio he is still a Chemical Brother, but they use a fill-in for the live shows. There's a new album in the pipeline, ’Brothers gonna work it out (again)’.

About Rise Against:
America. Land of hope and glory. And hardcore punk. Rise Against is from a family of bands god-fathered by the likes of Bad Religion, Descendents and Millencollin. The non-drinking, non-smoking, vegan four were originally called Transistor Revolt. They signed a record deal with Fat Wreck Records, a label owned by Fat Mike, singer for NOFX, and changed Transistor Revolt to Rise Against. Two albums later and the band signed to one of the big labels. ‘Siren Song of the Counter Culture’ (2004) became their first American gold record and signals their departure from the underground. Today Rise Against foments its melodious hardcore on every continent.
