Mesh – Kill Your Darlings (Dependent)

Mesh finally releases new material and it was worth waiting for! I run into this band thanks to Purple Moon / The Invitation events and as far as my memory is good is the only organization who booked them in my country (Belgium). I still hope somebody books them again!

It was back than DJ Alain who tipped me and told me it’s going to be the best synth pop band in the near future! Damn, he was right and ok: the singer looked a bit like rapper, but he could sing better than the front man of Depeche Mode (hell yeah: at some point a lot of people pointed out this influence)! The mesh is still on fire and you can still hear the rage within his singing. Mark Hockings and Rich Silverthorn ready to put the roof on fire and promise us a brand new album too (after the jewel called Automation Baby)!

The brand new teaser starts with a song that will be stuck in your head, glued with the strongest glue on earth, it’s earworm and it will crawl deeper and deeper in your head after each time you listened to it! It’s clear that Mesh has overpassed their own darlings: Depeche Mode and is now a reference to other bands! Kill Your Darlings is what they did and just proved they are ready to conquer the world! The guitars are hungry and the beats are killer beats! The melody has what is needed to lift the track to higher level, it’s simply perfectly crafted! It’s melancholic and pure, it’s simply the best synth pop track of the year!

Paper Thinsounds like a typicalMesh song: dramatic, angry, catchy … It’s simply another killer track! Based on these two songs the new album will be simply their best album ever!

After this we also get the club edit version and a pretty cool remix by my other hero from Aesthetic Perfection.

Looking Skyward is not only the name of the new album, it will be also the keyword for this future release, together with the rising expectations!
