It’s not the first time I review something from this band and it won’t be the last either. It’s clear that this band grows and evolves as times passes by. It’s also nice to see that the fans keep track and that the press keeps handing out positive reviews and so am I with this new EP!
The single edit of Wrong is an up-tempo track with a roaring sound, stomping beats and great mixing! The vocals sound a bit strange (distorted by a machine), with now and then some heavy screaming. It’s an earworm, it sticks like superglue! The Diskonnekted mix developpes the beats a bit more, adds a warmer sound a more bass. The vocals sound more aggressive in this version.
I must admire the remixing capacities of Jan (aka Diskonnekted) but that’s not something new for me as he already delivered great stuff in the past. The next remixer is Roy (aka Technomancer) and I can say that he always adds his own sound to his remixes. Each time you can tell this is a remix done by Roy, just incredible how fast he can tune on something into one of his own tracks! Roy clearly reworked the beats, the drums and the synths giving it a more Eurobeat sound with his typical retro touch. The piano remix by Xenturion Prime is a real remix and not a piano version of the same track, so be warned about what you are expecting! Still: the piano takes an important part, but the reworked synths also do and turned it into a more emotional track, with lesser aggression in the vocals and more sadness. It feels more like an esoteric version or at least a more into a floating sound version. For Real is a short end track with some drum’n bass and more guitars. It’s clearly a highlight! The vocals are simply fantastic! The global sound really rocks and makes it hard to stand still!
A great end for a great EP that managed to give us 3 different visions on the track and explores more possible ways! Thumbs up and hope to see them finally on stage! Can’t wait to get the full album too!
