Canadian industrial goth metal artist Daemon Grey returns with "Headbanger", a thrash-fueled heavy metal single with hardcore bite and a hint of industrial. Out via Out Of Line Music, the track is the second single from his forthcoming album DAETERNAL, due in 2027, and follows previous single "One True King".
"Headbanger" is an anthem for every metal fan with headbanging in their blood, and a manifesto for those who live and die by the riff. Inspired by classic thrash metal, the song blends elements of heavy metal, hardcore metal and industrial into something built to move: thick riffs and hard hits leave no choice but to bang your head. Daemon's vocals bring classic metal toughness and snarl with a hardcore edge.
The song is rooted in Daemon's own story. Headbanging has been part of his life from the very beginning, as he explains:
"I started headbanging in my mother's womb. She couldn't go to places with loud music because I would thrash around and bang to the beat."
As a young kid, he headbanged himself to sleep every night, and after discovering metal he never stopped. That lifelong devotion runs through the hook, "From womb to tomb I was born to bang", which frames being a headbanger not as a phase or a trend, but as part of who you are.
"Headbanger" arrives as the second step in the build-up to DAETERNAL, following "One True King", released on 6 August 2026. Fans of Marilyn Manson, Motionless In White and Rob Zombie will find plenty to latch onto here.
