Ruben Block, Roscoe, White Lies & Jordan Rakei: they all present excellent single's! It was hard to choose between them. But in the end it has become Niets is voor altijd by Ruben Block. The song needs song time to grow on you, but once it hits the right spot you'll regret Ruben doesn't sing more often in his motherlanguage! Welldone!

RUBEN BLOCK - NIETS IS VOOR ALTIJD

'In June 2021 we played a series of benefit shows in support of de Roma in Antwerp. I wanted to put together a special setlist for that occasion and took the opportunity to play a song I’ve liked for a long time, performed in my native tongue: ‘Niets is voor altijd’ by Madou. We’ve been playing it ever since.  Teun Verbruggen on drums, Lies Lorquet on bass, Geoffrey Burton on guitar, Gilles Vandecaveye-Pinoy on keys and yours truly on vocals and guitar.

ROSCOE - ALL I DO

As proven with Blanche’s big hit single City Lights, songwriter Pierre Dumoulin knows how to write an infectious pop song. With All I Do he now wrote a real pop tune for his band Roscoe. The brand new single is a compelling slice of modern pop music, still keeping the moody, melancholic Roscoe vibe intact. It’s a risky balancing act, but Dumoulin pulls it off with great distinction. All I Do has hooks and groove and raises the bar for Roscoe’s brand new album Folds, set for release on March 18th.

JORDAN RAKEI – BRUISES
Hot on the heels of his stunning collaboration with Bonobo – Shadows – on his Ninja Tune labelmate’s new album Fragments, Jordan Rakei kicks off 2022 with the release of new single Bruises, the lead single from a 4-track digital EP of the same name released Friday 4th March. Recalling Jordan’s musical roots and in particular his love of Bob Marley, Bruises trips out of the speakers with an overtly reggae-ish swagger. “I wanted to explore my musical roots of reggae music on ‘Bruises’, but put a slightly alternative spin on it,” explains Jordan. “I wrote the string parts and took them to Amika Quartet. We spent a whole day coming up with different ideas for different sections of the song, and I'm really happy with how it all turned out. I had a lot of fun making this track as it takes me back to my earlier days of making music.

TALLIES – WOUND UP TIGHT
Combining up-beat drum beats, melodic bass riffs, jingly guitar leads, and fluttery lighter-than-air vocals, Tallies gives out a soft, yet bouncy ray of sunshine. Wound Up Tight is about being stuck in a constant rotating vicious circle that makes one want to tear their own hair out. A feeling towards someone who just does't care enough to make a change. "This quartet hit a melancholy sweet spot between The Sundays, Sarah Records and Slowdive" - Q

ARCHIVE – NIGHT PEOPLE
Archive, the celebrated south London collective, release Night People, the second single from their forthcoming documentary Super8: A Call To Arms & Angels - which charts the writing and recording of the band’s 12th studio album and will be streamed worldwide on Moment House on 2 April. Night People forms part of an especially written score of music for the documentary which accompanies the release of their forthcoming album Call To Arms & Angels which comes out on 9 April. Filmed over the course of 12 months on a Super 8 camera found in the attic of Archive founding member Darius Keeler’s childhood family home, the documentary covers the making of the album during an extraordinary time of global pandemic and lockdown restrictions, culminating in recording sessions at the legendary RAK studios in London earlier this year.
