Shortly before his debut live show at the Out Of Line Weekender Festival on May 10th, Berlin-based alternative electro artist Mintage releases his second single via label Out Of Line Music: "Rag Doll" is now available everywhere! As I was at the festival that day, i can only release this message now and I can even tell you how impressive it was (read more underneath).
Fusing emotional vulnerability with dark electronic textures, Mintage blows fresh wind into the alt-electro scene with his brand new single "Rag Doll". This track is upbeat and energetic yet dark and raw, a perfect representation of this newcomer artist's musical pallette.
"Rag Doll is a raw confrontation with what it means to be truly connected," Mintage says, "Mirror two inner voices: one that finds solace in unwavering trust - a warmth reminiscent of that cherished plush friend - and another that bears the scars of abandonment, like a discarded toy."
Every line in "Rag Doll" forces a question: What does it take to be a real friend? Do you have the grit to accept both the sacrifices and betrayals that come with loyalty? There’s no sugarcoating here. Rag Doll is a reminder that genuine loyalty isn’t a commodity - it’s earned through struggle, honesty, and the messy reality of human connection.
"I wrote this song about a mistake I made. A mistake that might for others not even be one, but for me it was the beginning of a broken friendship. That day I introduced two friends of mine to each other and they got along pretty well - too well. " the musician adds. "I think we all know this feeling of being replaced, being used by friends you think are loyal to you. But some small situations tell more about a person than any word they could say to you. I am that Rag Doll, only being played with if they're in the mood. And if there's a new toy, I might just dust for eternity in that closet."
His previous video for the single "Bad 4 You" already made serious waves, having won “Best EDM & Dance Music Video” at the Europe Music Video Awards, and receiving an Honorable Mention for Experimental Music Video at the MMVAs. Visually intense, the video mirrors the song's themes of emotional malfunction, identity, and introspection with raw digital art direction and hyper-industrial flair.

With "Rag Doll", Mintage continues to redefine electronic music through his signature self-proclaimed hyperbass style - a genre-defying fusion of dark electro, alternative and hyperpop, filtered through a lens of raw emotion and avant-garde artistry. With an artistic identity rooted in emotional chaos, human behavior, and sonic rebellion, Mintage has carved out a space that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable.
