After his new singles "Meine Welt" and "Und die Engel singen", Till Lindemann now reveals a long-awaited re-release of his album "Zunge": Zunge 2025. Zunge 2025 contains all original Zunge album songs, plus 9 additional bonus tracks, including three unreleased songs. As I missed the original album and as I got attracted by the recent clips (songs) and with the feeling that somehow it’s game over for Rammstein it felt right to review it now. Due to a bug and lack of time it took me some time before I could finally start with it.
Zunge starts slowly with a theatrical touch. I don’t hear much difference with what Rammstein would have made from it. The song goes up and down: with slight rock/metal explosions and also some softer and almost whispered alike passages.
Sport frei rocks nicely and is filled with pathos, sung like only Till Lindemann can sing it! The choir is also wort hit.I again want to refer to Rammstein and this will bet he last time that I will drop it as it’s clear who was the mastermind!
Altes Fleisch sounds a bit softer in the beginning, has nice beats and takes a while before it really blooms, a bit like a diesel or an older guy. Hence, that describes it good!
Übers Meer has a spooky sound, doens’t explode and feels a bit like a filler.
Du hast kein Herz rocks from the start with a rolling sound and hard hitting drums. It’s a song fro headbangers with some time to catch some breath in between. For me it’s an ok song.
Tanzlehrerin is an accoustic track with a spanish/Mexican touch. I love the spooky female backing vocals that sound like haunting you.
Ich hasse Kinder makes it clear he doesn’t want any kids and hates them. The story telling makes it very clear, but it has also a double message: it’s not just black and white. The song swings between catchy, rocking and with some softer passages.
Nass builds up slowly: from whispering to screaming! It’s a very theatrical minded song (bit the classic solo approach).
Alles für die Kinder it’s a dark, dpooky and Halloween minded track. Perfect fort his time of the year. It’s a bit sad my German is not good enough to fully understand the lyrics.
Schweiss sounds like a classic Rammstein song (with beats, heavy guitars, hammering drums and filled with pathos). Ouch, i used the band’s name again.
Lecker sounds a bit funny, but also a bit horny. Somehow it sounds like one of the best songs of this album!
Selbst verliebt is a nice ballad (genre Diamant) but with a double side and a bit sarcastic. Falling in love with the image you see in your mirror … This song also show his more fragile side. Funny note: let the silence go for a while and wait fort he carnavalesque kind of fun song that follows as a mistery track! It’s a real Schläger song!
Is it a good album? Yes! is it what I expected? Yes! Is it the best album ever? No, but I feel this solo thing has to grow and might eventually outgrow Rammstein.

And now comes the sweet stuff for the fans and the reason why they should buy this one!
Prostitution could have been the real opener of the original album, but I feel it was let out due to the title and the explicit lyrics. As I have never seen him on stage as a solo artist I can’t even say ho wit would look and sound like on stage. I feel it would be great! Let the Wagnerian sound empower the stage, the festival, the crowd …
Und die Engel singen has already been launched as a single and it makes sense as it’s a real banger and can’t be skipped during a gig! Feel the power of this song and ad dit to your playlist (like I did from the starts)! It’s a must have song!
Meine Welt is yet another must have track (also from the start in my personal playlist)! It’s Till’s grandeur that lifts the level of this song to a highly praised song!
Entre dos tierras: well it’s not the first time I hear him singing in Mexican, somehow it sounds well and I feel he had fun recording it. No clue what motivated him, but it sounds good. On top I can say it’s a real good track! Yet another must have track!
Und die Engel singen - SWARM Remix. Time fors ome remixes! This one is more dancefloor orientated with more beats and a high tempo. Well done!
Meine Welt - Weltuntergang Remix by Aesthetic Perfection gets a warmer and deeper sound. The remix makes sense as they tour together. Wandering how they sound together on stage?
Und die Engel singen - Alas Caidas Remix by Hocico: getting remixed by label mates and yes: this one is the best out of these 3 remixes as it’s raw, brutal, filled with energy! This is just it!
Übers Meer - Piano Version shows that this version is basically better then what it became! I adore this stripped down version! I would say: keep i tand bring it on stage like this!
Lollipop sounds modern, is a bit catchy and is a cool ending for the extra’s. It’s a whole new sound for Till. I can describe it as modern hip hop, R’nB with a dark touch and a bit erotic.
Yup: A must have and worth it! Go see them on stage!
