Finnish female-fronted alternative metal act Blame Me! return with their new single and music video "Last Goodbyes", out via Out Of Line Music. The track is a deeply personal exploration of grief, survivor's guilt, and the impossible process of moving forward after losing someone to suicide.

Where the band's previous single "Time by Time" channelled the tension of a fractured relationship, "Last Goodbyes" goes somewhere altogether even more vulnerable. Frontwoman Bini Silvennoinen delivers one of her most restrained and consuming vocal performances to date, the softness of her voice working in contrast to the song's emotionally charged instrumentation. Driven by the rhythmic intensity of new drummer Maiju Mäki, the track builds through quiet devastation into something dark yet hopeful.

Lyrically, "Last Goodbyes" places the listener in the aftermath of an unthinkable loss., the disorientation, the guilt, the fear that grieving too long means forgetting, and the fear that moving on means the same. Lines like "I'm scared if I stop grieving I'll forget / I'm scared if I start living I'll forget" articulate an experience that is rarely spoken about openly, let alone set to music with this degree of honesty. The song's bridge "Sometimes I feel your light / Sometimes I feel like I am holding you at night" offers a rare, quiet grace note amid the wreckage.

"When someone decides to end their life, the sadness, despair and emptiness it causes for people around is unimaginable. How do you handle such grief? This song dives into the emotions and thoughts going through your head. Life is fragile." — Blame Me!
