Dunk!festival 2013 eindigde met een financiele kater, gelukkig zijn de problemen, mede dankzij de enorme steun van fans, van de baan. Ondertussen is de organisatie al volop aan het plannen voor de volgende editie. Deze gaat door op 18,19 en 20 april 2014. Echter niet meer in de vertrouwde Bevergemse Vijvers maar op een andere locatie. Het festival zal doorgaan in twee tenten nabij het in Zottegem gelegen jeugdverblijf De Populier. Er komen dus weer twee podia, maar er zal tijd genoeg zitten tussen de acts om ook tot rust te komen. Trouwens, het gebouw zelf zal gebruikt worden als chill out, merchandise en restaurant. "Dear dunk!fans,
We are proud to announce that we had the opportunity and are working hard to move dunk!festival to a new location. Some of you may have seen that new location before. We're talking about De Populier. A lot of artists and visitors slept there during the festival. De Populier is also located in Zottegem at 2km from the city center. The building and area around has lots of opportunities for different set ups.The plan is to set up two stages again, but the schedule will provide more time between two shows so you can chill out and give yourself some time to digest the previous show. Both stages will be in two tents next to the building. The building itself will serve as restaurant, merch, chill out area,...
There is plenty of room to set up the festival like you are used to it and even more!
And also, this is where dunk!team 1/2 lives. The house in the picture above is also referred to as dunk!HQ. We know the place like no-one else and we know it will add to the awesomeness of the festival.
"But it was fucking freezing at night and you're going to set up the fucking stages in fucking tents?! Are you out of your fucking mind?!"
No we're not. The festival will happen on April 18-19-20. That's almost a month later than this year. Two years ago it was 30ยบC at dunk!festival. This year was an extreme exception and we're never going to have another dunk!festival in March. Starting in 2015 the first weekend of May will be dunk!festival weekend. Write that down!
