MATT SIMONS - IDENTITY CRISIS (25/03)
After hits such as Catch & ReleaseWe Can Do Better or Better Tomorrow, Multi-platinum and hit maker artist Matt Simons is back with Identity Crisis, the first in a string of singles to be released in 2021, culminating in an EP. The song represents a new phase in his career, where he explores new styles and experiments with contemporary influences.  Lyrically it is 100% honest : a  glowing example of a songwriter unafraid to expose  his vulnerable side : “It explores co-dependency and how at times we tend to lose our sense of self in a relationship. When it's over, how do we pick up the pieces and move forward?” asks Matt. Tune in now!

BEN HOWARD - SORRY KID

Ben Howard is pleased to share a new track, Sorry Kid, from his forthcoming album, Collections From The Whiteout. It’s the final track to be shared ahead of the album’s release. The album was produced with Aaron Dessner and marks the first time Howard has worked with an outside collaborator on his music.

Sorry Kid is loosely inspired by the story of Anna Sorokin, the Russian born German woman who posed as a billionaire heiress and was imprisoned for fraudulent activity in America. Musically, it’s an atmospheric mood-setter that taps into the general aura of Collections From The Whiteout, and is another tantalizing taster to a special record. Last week, Ben shared details of an exclusive one-off global live stream event to celebrate the release of the new record. Filmed at the iconic Goonhilly Earth Station on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, UK, Ben and his band will perform new album tracks for the first time.

ANNA OF THE NORTH - HERE'S TO ANOTHER (26/03)

Norwegian pop artist Anna Lotterud, known as Anna Of The North, releases her first new music of 2021 and her first single from her yet TBA album set for release in October! This follows on from her 2019 album Dream Girl which is approaching 40M streams across DSPs with the title track recently being used on a global TV campaign for Apple’s iPad! Here's to another is one of my favourite songs that ive ever written. Its very honest and the story of my life. It wasn’t intentional, but I think a lot of people can connect with the lyrics atm as we just put quite a strange and challenging year behind us. I cant believe a whole year has passed. Living in these absurd pandemic times. I’ve probably worn the same 5 outfits for a year now, I don’t shower everyday anymore, I can’t remember last time i put on make up. And the worst thing is that I don’t really mind it all. So I’ve probably gone mad.”

ROVER - TO THIS TREE

If he hadn't been kicked out from Lebanon five years ago because of his expired visa, we might have never heard his music. At the time, Timothée Régnier was playing guitar in a punk rock band called The New Government, which was shaking things up in the Near East. His self-titled debut album was released in 2012 and was welcomed with open arms by both critics and the general public; reaching the gold disc status in France with more than 50,000 units sold and notching the "Revelation" award at the French Victoires de la Musique ceremony – having a kind of deep-rooted, dazzling effect. Rover now lives in Brussels and is back with a brand new track + video entitled To This Tree & directed by Benny Vandendriessche (Balthazar, Warhaus…).

LOS RETROS - IT'S GOT TO BE YOU (RADIO EDIT)

Inspired both by his Mexican-American heritage and birthplace of Oxnard, CALos Retros draws from vast influences, from Tapia’s parents’ collection of American soft-rock records, to left-field South American pop, and his older brother’s love of 90s hip hop. Mauri explains his goal of creating music to bring about a sense of community and peacefulness: “In my songs I’m just trying to make a beautiful three-to-six minute moment that makes you feel more positive about life.” Los Retros’ 2019 debut EP Retrospect drew praise from press all around the world who described Mauri as “one of the most exciting artists making indie today.” The hit single Someone To Spend Time With has surpassed 30 million streams since its release! He now returns with a dreamy melancholic new track entitled It’s Got To Be You.

JOHN GRANT - BOY FROM MICHIGAN (24/03)

Boy from Michigan is the title track from John Grant’s new upcoming album. It’s the author’s shaggy-dog story, a novelistic approach where songs are more like chapters in a leatherbound book bought from a favourite thrift store. “I guess I’m just thinking about where I came from,” he notes, “and what I went into.”  With Cate Le Bon in the production chair, Grant has pared back his zingers, maximising the emotional impact of the melodies, stripping the noise of vaudeville and mood-enhancing a fruitful, spare, strangely orchestrated new world for him to live in.

LO - AMSTERDAM (25/03)

« Elle n'est qu'à quelques heures, pourtant elle n'a jamais paru aussi loin ». Amsterdam is a love song for the most beautiful lady in the world. Brussels is a home to many memories for LO who would picture living there one day. On this new track, the young French-Belgian singer-songwriter LO unveils a new facet of him, softer. A melancholy piano-voice title rocked by a few electronic layers, accompanied by an elegant session recorded by François Dubois at Le Théâtre de Namur. A magical place that also echoes to LO’s other passion: theatre.
