Futurepop duo XP8 made a surprise return yesterday with a new release called Twenty. It’s their first new music since calling it quits in 2014. Apparently the lockdown was so boring fro them that they rebooted and started launching their tunes again. So yes: blame their return on COVID-19!

Back To Light comes out of my speakers like their classic pumping and roaring sound from the past. The vocals have matured a bit and comes a bit closer to the old school voals of MeshLockdown Logic tells it all with heavy beats and a deep bass. It's party time, like in the good old days (with a slice of Front 242). It's clear they can still act as youngsters and craft killer tracks!

There is also a Straftanz/Miss X Isolation Rave remix of Lockdown Logic for the ravers and techno fans!

Here are some words from the masters themselves:

The songs were created to mark XP8’s twentieth anniversary, which unfortunately arrived at the same time as the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. Bandmembers Marco Visconti and Marko Resurreccion, who live in different cities now, remained in touch via Zoom and decided to create new music to celebrate their inception.

But don’t get too excited. TWENTY is an unexpected, one-off release that marks the finale of XP8. “Yeah we know, we said it before. This time we are quite sure of it,” they write.

Enjoy this little moment!
