SCARVED is a female fronted rock band from Belgium. Inspired by both the Classic Rock from the ‘70 and the rock & metal music of today, their music can be seen as a mixture of hard rock with some metal and progressive elements in it.

The album has been taking dust since one year, but now we can finally hear the result and check the 10 tracks!

First one is called Fly: a nice rocker with backings that gives the song a catchy touch. I like the tempo and the guitar play. The bass is also worth mentioning! The title track (Flashback) already comes in as second track and starts with punching guitar play that has a clear 70’s touch. Caro sings pretty deep, but shows off she can also sing a bit higher. The punchline of the title gives it a catchy touch. The guitar solo makes it a bit too long, but it’s also a nice time to go and pick up something to drink. Schizofrenic starts in a real cool way (listen to the wacka wacka guitar slide) and merges with a heavy sound. It’s a smoking rock track! The parlophone touch on her voice whilst whispering is a good touch. Nightshift has a slower tempo and a more bluesy feel. The second part of the song is more up-tempo and will for sure please a lot of fans and get good feedback during live shows! Poison Kiss is a nice one (and sounds like as if I even hear some strings in the background). This song sounds like a typical rocker played in a dark pub. Head Over Heels is a good up-tempo track and has a catchy chorus (thanks to the backings). I think it should make it as a single too, with a nice clip on top! Rising Soul has a nice slow down moment, with an almost elevating moment. Slowly the tempo comes back, just as the smoking guitar sound. The end is pretty strong. Lost In Space is a false slow: filled with pathos and a clear bluesy touch. Lockdown is the heaviest, most pumped up and emotionally loaded song of the whole album! Last track is Catch Me Offline and tells the story of a person living in 2021: addicted to the web! The ending is good!

Well: this band is perfect for small festival, bars and other similar places! You’ll be sure to have a good time, just as with this album! Rock on!
