The Deaf Dollars is a rock band invented by three lifetime friends: Pascal Molenaar, Erik Sterk and Kevin Tsie. With their enormous suitcases of experience they find now is the time to take everything to the max and full throttle on their musical capabilities and keep pushing.

The album starts with a funky Soul Education mixed with some smoking and very catchy rock! Towards the end the song goes crescendo! I will Only Bring U Tears starts with some electronics, but the guitars blow it away whilst the backings give it a powerful boost. The A-Capella part in the end is a cool thing! I Feel Like A Rocket sounds like unleashing this band at the end of a long and hard lockdown! Enjoy this blast that comes close to a funky mix of rock and AC/DC. This must be a hit on stage! Shimmer People mixes pop (thanks to the synth) with rock and has also a catchy chorus. It’s also the kind of songs that makes you happier with every time you listen to it! Love it! Another highflyer is Electrify and sounds as good as the title! Funkier and poppy is Crazy About You. Somehow it mixes Prince with Jamiroquai. More of the same comes with the crazy song called Singularity. The song is mixing a bit too much sounds in one time and I don’t like the rap parts. Jack The Bone sounds like a greasy rocker played in a dark bar filled with smoking and drinking bikers whilst some younger fans are trying to fit in. High Expectations can be a hard boner and a killer. The song goes up and down, without breaking barriers. The chorus gives it a catchy touch, whilst we also hear some kind of Marilyn Manson voice. Someone is one of the few low’s on the album as I have the feeling it’s going nowhere. On the last track the vocals sound a bit different, more into melancholia (with cool backings): Strange Devotion. On the other hand the song sounds very familiar, but just can’t drop a name or a title.

The album has enough variation to keep it interesting and the vocals are not bad at all! It’s not my style, but I hear enough potential and the first impression was good, so I’m pretty sure a lot of fans will follow and will give them at least one chance to conquer their heart!
