yes JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN are back and worked together with TONY ALLEN and DAVE OKUMU! They present us their first single: TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER! Time to call it single of the week! The lyrics of the song reflect perfect what a lot of people are thinking right now as they want change and most of all: they want their life back!

JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN, TONY ALLEN, DAVE OKUMU - TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER

First single from brand new collaborative album by Joan As Police Woman, Dave Okumu and Afro-beat drumming legend Tony Allen, who sadly passed away shortly after these albums sessions. Take Me To Your Leader is the most incendiary track on the new record: “I wrote it watching Jacinda Ardern, PM of New Zealand, navigate 2020. In my dreamworld, the US asks to meet her in order to learn how to better run the country. “Take me to your leader/ ‘cause I’m ready to play/ can’t hold my breath any longer/ word on the street is she’s a healer/ I know I’m down to obey/ and don’t we need a break in the chaos”.” – Joan Wasser

MOONCHILD SANELLY - YEBO TEACHER

Moonchild Sanelly is South Africa’s “Queen of Gqom” – a superstar with a flow so unique it's earned her recent collaborations with Beyoncé, Ghetts, Die Antwoord, Gorillaz, Diplo and Wizkid. Now stepping out with Transgressive Records, Moonchild Sanelly is excited to have the global spotlight on her and take her electrifying music and unique style to an international audience. “Yebo Teacher is about putting the work in, not just in school but in life. My analogy of a Teacher talking to her students is simple - is showing people that during your time on this earth, when you take on a task, you finish it. It’s about completion, and it’s about effort. I’m asking people of all ages - ‘Have you done your homework? Are you working hard to get to the level you want to be at in life?' “ – Moonchild Sanelly

DEEMA - RAINBOW

Deema first emerged as a member of Grime collective The Square alongside Novelist and playing Wiley’s Eskimo Dance as Elf Kid’s hypeman. Has since explored UK Hip-Hop sounds in singles Maddie and more street and classic Grime beats across 2020 project CHEW YOUR FOODRAINBOW is the second single taken from his 'Rainbow' EP, expect for August 6, and follows hot on the heels of the well received CAN I?.

KAY YOUNG - WHITE TEETH

London-based artist, rapper and producer Kay Young has released her mesmeric new single White Teeth. Built on a soulful loop, the track is Young’s first release of 2021, following her debut EP Middle Matters, released last year. White Teeth is a beautifully accomplished track - produced, written and recorded entirely by Kay, it is a track brimming with empathy, one that implores the listener to consider perspectives other than their own. Speaking on the track, Young says, 'White Teeth is a bittersweet song. I wanted the listener to see the world through the eyes of an innocent child who is yet to face adversity simply for the colour of their skin’. Young’s performance walks the line between elegance and immediacy - her raps landing gracefully on soulful production. It is the easy-going charisma that caught the ear of Jay Electronica, leading her to be flown out to LA and signing to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. Last month, Young featured in BT Sports anti-racism video “Time For Change” which marked the one year anniversary of George Floyd’s death. It’s been a whirlwind journey for Young, but White Teeth shows an artist slowing time down, finding room to breathe and delivering their finest work yet.
