“La Fleur du Mal” is a four songs EP with Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio at their very finest. It serves as an introduction to the more comprehensive full-length album “Nihilist Notes (And the Perpetual Quest 4 Meaning in Nothing)” coming in May and will be released on CD - with ONLY 444 copies available worldwide.
“La Fleur du Mal” features four highly competent tracks that reveals a more sinister and oppressive approach to melody making and orchestrations than we have heard from the band in years. The texts that support the music is best described as nihilistic poetry. Pitch black, abysmal anthems. Metaphors and symbols reflecting the world past present and future, revealing the cycles in which we coexist. A great album indeed, a delicious taste of the album that is to come.
In the name of the Sun, my Father and the Spirit is the first track and has something that sounds like an electric guitar sound and a synth whilst we also hear the classical percussion. The music is just as the previous album hypnotic and from an unearthly level! Darkness, sadness and not the happiest lyrics formed in poetry! No time like the Present - La Fleur du Mal is the title track and mixes darkness with a very scary feeling and romance. It’s a double flipped song that presents both side of love: the good side and the dark side! I can’t wait to see and hear this one on stage in Aarschot (Porta Nigra Festival)! Receive the Flame, all you Children of the Sun is carried by the percussion next to the haunting vocals. Strings, a Wagnerian touch and a hypnotic sound comes with I am the Son of Daggers, in a Future you forgot.
One thing is clear: after their previous album the score has been set very high! I can’t wait to hear the new album and hope it matches my very high expectations! I also can’t wait to see them back on stage as I know it will be a new highlight!

“Fatherland, what does it imply? A nation of fathers for whom we shall die?
Kiss the blade, your name is not known. Let’s die in the trenches for motives unknown.
Raise the flag, whitened in blood. Forged by our fathers delivered by god.
Touch the flame, mother of pain. An army of legion is raised in thy name.
Give to me, the eyes of the blind. The meaning of blood has been lost over time.
God of war, we plead for our lives. The first gasp of air is the moment we die.”
