EZRA FURMAN has with FOREVER IN SUNSET the single of the week: her captivating voice, the excellent bass and the whole production stole my heart! Just listen to the track and let her seduce you!

Sudan Archives’ new song Selfish Soul is an ode to Black hair. Sudan says the song is “about women and the celebration of hair. It’s about the representation of different hair textures and embracing all textures of it. I feel like there’s an American standard of what beautiful hair is, and I wanted to show in this video that’s not what all beauty is. I was inspired by India Arie's ‘I Am Not My Hair’, one of the first songs I heard about this specific subject.” In the vibrant video directed by Trey Lyons, Sudan plays her violin upside down on a pole and standing on a roof. She and her girlfriends dance in the mud, celebrating the beauty of hair in all different textures.

Ezra Furman announces the new record, All Of Us Flames, out 26th August via Bella Union, with the cathartic lead single, Forever In Sunset. Produced by John Congleton, All of Us Flames unleashes Furman’s songwriting in an open, vivid sound whose boldness heightens the music’s urgency. Following previous singles Book Of Our Names and Point Me Toward The RealForever In Sunset peers past the scorch of the apocalypse into a vision of collective survival, tracing the ways outcast people can make each other real through mutual belief.

Automatic’s second album for Stones Throw, Excess rides the imaginary edge where the ‘70s underground met the corporate culture of the ‘80s; or, as the band puts it, “That fleeting moment when what was once cool quickly turned and became mainstream all for the sake of consumerism.” Using this point in time as a lens through which to view the present, Automatic takes aim at corporate culture and extravagance, weaving deadpan critiques into cold wave hooks. Skyscraper imagines a Patrick Bateman type — the kind of sociopath who excels in C-suites and complains about affordable housing going up in his neighborhood. Halle explains, “It’s about spending your life making money and then spending it to fill the void created by said job.Lola adds: “Kind of like going to LA to live your dreams.

Phantasy are delighted to share Cold Wind, the first taste from their exciting new signing, Ruby Goon. Colourful and vulnerable, the music of Ruby Goon soulfully blends early psychedelia, glam and indie rock. Led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ivan Solimani-Lezhnev, whose talents for melody and melancholy sweep in with rare assurance on Cold Wind, a plaintive and irresistible nugget of rock instrumentation,  Solimani-Lezhnev’s guitar gently weeping, then subtly erupting alongside a yearning vocal and soaring brass.
