Solitude Within is a Female Fronted Symphonic Rock / metal band from Ninove (Belgium). Their name is inspired by the song “Solitude Within” from Evergrey. The band was founded in 2017. The debut album – “Disappear” – received many positive reviews, not only in Belgium, but also in the Netherlands, Germany, England and America. The next album was planned for the end of 2021, but got delayed by the Corona virus. The new release date for “When Kingdoms Fall” was postponed to October 2022. The music style reminds you of Within Temptation, Delain, Nightwish, Evanescence… Listeners will notice the melodic voice, bombastic intro’s, epic choruses and beautiful melodies, which is why their music is loved by many.

Beautifully Broken is a typical symphonic metal track: filled with bombast and classic instruments like strings and a piano. As it’s a female fronted metal band we also get strong, pationate and very accurate vocals. Emmelie Arents is really the perfect choice for this band as a singer!

Further Away mixes fragility with raw power, goes hard and slow (a bit like waves on the sea). The song is more a heavy rocker then a symphonic metal track (unlike the opener). I adore the break down who focusses on Emmelie’s vocals!

When Kingdoms Fall starts in an explosive way, calms down and shows it’s aggressivity shortly after that. It’s a very powerful track!

I’m Not Lost has a sweet sound and is according to me a rock ballad. I cherish the breakdown, the piano parts and the excellent vocals!

Over And Over is a symphonic metal banger with a lot of variety in the sound and in the tempo, making it a very interesting song as it displays all the possibilities of the band!

One Final Wish starts with fragility in the vocals, explodes with roaring guitars and hard hitting drums. It’s a song about bowing but not breaking when facing evil.

Breathe is a mix of a rock ballad and a more metal minded track with roaring guitars, hard hitting drums and a symphonic metal touch. The vocals sound very angelic and pure!

Land of Disarray rock harder but still keeps a sweet touch despite the roaring guitars and hard hitting drums. The breakdown gives it a more theatrical and epic touch. For the first time I also hear male vocals and thus giving it a harsher touch.

Ice and Fire starts with fragile vocals, strings and a piano. After one minute we hear a change in the vocals: they sound strong and loud. The tempo goes up and down. Yet I would describe this song as a ballad lead by a siren’s voice.

To The Grave hits hard and mixes male and female vocals (like in the good old time). The piano gives it a bombastic touch, whilst the guitars work hard on the harder sound. The symphonic metal touch is there too, but it’s a bit more put to the background. I also hear a cool guitar solo. Emmelie also gets her spot in the spotlights during the breakdown. It’s a great song!

Astray is the last song and sounds in the beginning like a typical symphonic metal outro, but once the guitars and drums jump in we get a more heavy metal orientated sound and the tempo goes up whilst even the vocals sound like in a hurry and ready to fight! This song feels like the perfect end song as it shows off one last time all their attributes and gives the end a big bang!

It was fun, enjoyed it from the start until the end! I believe it can work on stage! I’m just missing a real hit song, however the ballads can make it too, but then the band needs a good push in the back and needs your support as it has already been hard to get it all done! Good luck!
