Black Asteroid shares a new track, a mind-bending industrial techno number featuring LOUISAHHH. 'Love' is out everywhere now via Artoffact Records and is the last taste of what’s to come off of the upcoming album, out May 3rd.
Apropos of the collaborative nature of this album, Bryan Black (AKA Black Asteroid) called in a couple of contributors on today’s new single. The track’s fuzzy lead in grabs the listener and keeps them hooked, heating up when it drops on Louisahhh’s entrancing delivery of “the first thing god made is love // then comes blood” and winds through Black’s infectious industrial techno beats, being rounded out perfectly by guitars courtesy of Kraig Tyler. Truly a track that can be enjoyed widely by any dark music lover, if even not generally one gravitating towards techno or industrial.
On ‘Love’ and teaming up with LOUISAHHH, Black comments:
"My first interaction with Louisahhh came after I had produced some music with Dave Clarke and he suggested her record label, RAAR as a good place to launch it. We quickly became friends, and enjoyed Nine Inch Nails together in Paris during Fashion Week. It seems we are both techno punks from NY, who bonded over confrontational live techno and other similar interests.
On this song, I also called up Kraig Tyler, who played guitar on my first album back in 1994 as haloblack. He is also from NY and played in Chemlab, an industrial band that I toured with as haloblack.
Like Louisahhh, Kraig and I came up in the US industrial scene. This song has the same energy and bold experimentation that I explored on my first demos as a teenager. I really feel like this union of screaming vocals, shredding guitars and modular synths is exactly something that I wanted to showcase on my album - to further set me apart from the rest of the techno community, and draw from my earliest experiences that shaped me as an artist.”
