IMJUDAS, the solo project of Maxx Maryan from the Electro-Goth/Pop Metal duo HELALYN FLOWERS, releases his highly anticipated new album, "Viscerheart". Diving into emotional turmoil, "Viscerheart" explores love, suffering, obsession, and self-discovery, breaking down narrative barriers. Described as 'Electro-synth Pop with a Goth soul,' IMJUDAS fearlessly embraces vulnerability, inviting listeners on a captivating journey through human emotions.

The title holds deep significance, reflecting the emotional journey woven through dark pop masterpieces. IMJUDAS' unique blend of synth pop, dark wave, and post punk sets him apart in the genre, creating a mesmerizing fusion.

With standout vocals, IMJUDAS combines influences from DEPECHE MODE and GARY NUMAN to modern Electro in tracks like "Tazebao" and "Go Away". The album showcases his sonic evolution, culminating in the infectious Dark Pop / Post-Punk / Cold-Wave anthem, "I Love You".

"Viscerheart" pushes sound boundaries, drawing inspiration from EDM/Dance-Pop and venturing into sonic abstraction. This meticulously crafted production features intricate instrumentation, driving basslines, and toxic liquid wave-y guitars, creating a lush dark and polished sonic palette.

IMJUDAS invites music enthusiasts on a hauntingly beautiful sonic and human journey. With crystal-clear production, heartfelt lyricism, and infectious melodies, "Viscerheart" resonates as a testament to IMJUDAS' artistic vocation.

I love you has already been reviewed with the previous EP and this is what was written about it back then:

I Love You climbs in my personal playlist and is a nice electro pop track with a very positive vibe. It's a typical spring track and perfect to start a morning with when you have somebody next to you when you wake up and make love.”

Red bridge is a slower track and thus misses a bit the energetic bombing from the previous track.

Tazebao is Italian and means something like messages on a wall, if I got it good. The tempo is ok, but I feel too much as a filler, however the song has a certain message, but it’s not clear enough to me.

Lost my faith in nirvana is a very cool title and the lyrics could go in 2 ways: the band or the afterlife. I suppose it’s not about the band. The tempo is not really it and the sound is from the same level. I don’t get where the music is going too, but it takes most of the song before you hear a bit where it’s going too and that is not good. I feel like a wasted title.

Stjudas is a soft (synth)piano driven track. In the promo it was described as a New Wave ballad and that will make it indeed. I also hear a slice of a bombastic touch.

Viscerheart is attempt to create a good song, but mixes so much styles and influences that the right direction somehow got lost. Sad.

Our future is a more electrified track, however the tempo is a bit too slow. I was expecting a more fueled track with this title, I got a bit disappointed.

Go away is an ok track with a good tempo and a regular IMJUDAS sound.

The risk of surviving is a good up-tempo electro beat’n up track with an almost catchy chorus and almost typical Italian Eurobeat sound.

You gotta live goes deeper down the road of Itali disco Eurobeat, but in the wrong direction. I miss a punch line and the right tempo to make it from switch to switch. A good remix might save this song, but add some power to the vocals and don’t put them in the background.

Paper skeletons takes us for an electronic walk through the 80’s until 2024, the view is ok but time changes fast and doesn’t leave a valuable trace. Forget the song once it’s over.

Illusion is another ok track, it’s not the big bang expecting to hear at the end of an album, but hey it’s ok. The music is ok, the tempo is ok, just as the vocals and no the song is not referring to: Just an Illusion from Imagination.

At first I was happy I could review this one as so far it was mainly Filip VM who did it all, but the more I listened to this album the more I got disappointed. There are some really great tracks, but in the end I feel like this is excellent EP material, just kill the fillers and only leave the excellent tracks! I left the promo chat as it helps you to understand what was done here: it’s all experimental, so I judged it like this and marked the good songs. Conclude for yourself …
