Front Line Assembly have released a new version of 'Anthropod' featuring Deep Infirmary – the solo project of composer and multi-instrumentalist Skot Hamilton! Unsurprisingly to anyone who knows Hamilton's work in bands like KEN mode and Adolyne, the remix is 6.5 minutes of extrodinarily brash, vociferous noise that gives the original track a pleasantly abrasive new life.
On the song and the opportunity to work on a Front Line Assembly track, Hamilton shares: "I couldn’t have been more than 13 when I got “Gashed Senses and Crossfire” and “Millenium” in the mail from Columbia house at the dawn of my interest in more abrasive and transgressive music. FLA were certainly one of more formative outfits in those two departments. The prospect of tearing FLA’s components apart and re-ensembling them with impunity was unquestionably daunting, but I never lost sight of how much of a full-circle opportunity it was, and I’m honored that this mix got the green light from Bill.
As will be immediately evident, I kind of lost my mind and went scorched earth on this poor song, so I release it with an earned degree of sadness for anyone who can’t stand the way I’ve vandalized it. My Condolences."
