With their latest single ‘You're In My Soul’ CauseNation immediately sets a very high standard. This uptempo song was already a part of their live shows. It's about the feelings experienced after a breakup: the feeling of drowning, disappointment, financial anxiety, loosing a soulmate, depression,.. And eventually finding new love and support or not finding it at all.
The songs original mix and radio edit are supported by remixes from Novakill, Darkvolt and Guy Tallo. It is already available on Bandcamp and scheduled to be released on other platforms on July 16th 2024.
The Belgian record label 'DressCode Black' is a sub label of 'Detroit-Berlin' and releases dark electronic music. Mainly focused on but not limited to genres like: EBM, Electro, New Wave and Industrial. DressCode Black is based in Antwerp.
Review:
You're In My Soul (Original mix) is a bit of a catchy track with foot stumping beats and a good tempo. The backings remind me a bit of Suicide Commando whilst the more modern electronic sound comes close to C-Lekktor and with those 2 names you can’t do anything wrong! So Kuddos for this one!
You're In My Soul (Darkvolt remix) adds a bit of industrial and drum’n bass with a slice of deep house.
You're In My Soul (Novakill remix) is a great club minded remix, I have a feeling this one might score and fill a lot of dancefloors all over the world!
You're In My Soul (Guy Tallo remix) comes close to the modern (live) sound of Front 242 mixed with a bit of 80’s New Wave pop.
You're In My Soul (Radio edit) is a shorter version and sounds indeed also a bit stronger. I just fear that only Radio Willy or some underground radio’s will play it, but let’s send out the message and who knows?
I’m happy I saw this band on stage in Kortrijk as now I know how strong the music sounds on stage and that turned me into a believer! So thumbs up and let’s hope that at least some versions get some airplay and get checked out by some DJ’s!
