Implant is a Belgian project created by a mastermind called Len Lemeire! I know him since he released a track on a Side-Line sampler. Saw Implant many times on stage. Saw Len working with stars like Anne Clark en J-L (Front 242). Friends, fans and label praise him and it’s totally deserved! He did great remixes, does some studio work for other bands and keeps on evolving. With this one a new change is slowly popping up new gear and a new mindset. Check it all underneath:
“Welcome to the final descent into the dark abyss of IMPLANT’s “Chaos Machines” trilogy. “Judging Sinners” thrusts us into a dystopian limbo where sinners, haters, and responsible clowns await their final judgment. In this malevolent antechamber of hell, redemption comes not from repentance but from embracing the chaos that lingers in their fractured psyches.
The album exudes a sinister and oppressive energy, with dense, unsettling modern synth sequences twisted by piercing noise loops. Vocals are delivered like unrelenting, hypnotic chants – raw, angry, and insistent, hammering through your mind. Even NOEMI AURORA’s new guest vocal appearance on the final song takes the darker obsessive path… “Get Out Of My Head”! The madness intensifies as beats erupt with feral energy, driving you to the dancefloor with tracks like the explosive “Why Don’t You Sin Like Me” and the unyielding assault of “The Dancefloor Is Lava”. IMPLANT skillfully weaves menacing basslines and echoing, eerie synths into an addictive concoction of 80s EBM, 90s dark electro, and futuristic industrial psy-trance.”
Get Out Of My Head starts very slowly (almost like one of the new The Cure songs): spooky sounds and for a while I was thinking: this song is a long intro song when suddenly Len starts to bring the lyrics. The sound becomes louder and harsher. The song feels like mixing old school Implant with Suicide Commando (others might come with other names). Just today I read we all have micro plastic in our head: causing an early death, dementia … It feels a bit like as if this one is the result of the micro plastics story. The end goes back to the beginning (almost like The movie: Lost Highway).
Why Don’t You Sin Like Me is a great dancefloor orientated song with a good tempo, a modern sound, roaring machines and techno influences! I’m sure Len might one day come out with a new remix of it and conquer the world with it, he just needs to let his heart and soul take the lead! I’m wandering to whom the song is addressed to? The more you listen to it, the better it gets!
The Dancefloor Is Lava sounds louder, harsher and more aggressive. Now my daughter is a big fan of the Netflix game: The Floor Is Lava, it’s funny and I can say: I adore it! I also feel the connection with the Machine’s! It’s another tip for the DJ’s!
Vampire State is yet another one with roaring machine’s, playing it very loud. If I compare this one to the previous album it feels like we are going into a different kind of sound: wider, louder, warmer …
Responsible feels a bit more like a regular track: missing a bit the fire. The lyrics are ok.
This Clown Is For Hire. Just the title of this song makes me scratch a bit my hair. Is it meant to be as a joke or is it something utterly serious? Beware! The tempo is low and it seems like the story telling is important here (so not dancefloor orientated). Maybe it’s about prostituting yourself in any kind of form, without really wanting it: as we all need money to survive.
Always On The Run Short starts slowly, as if it’s an interlude but after one fat minute the beats start to pump up the volume, after which the machine’s start to roar. The tempo is not as high as on some others (higher then the previous one): there is more sound in the sound if I can say it like this. Just the ending could have been cut down a bit (keep it shorter as there is a fade out and not a big bang).
The Conformer has a shorter intro and goes faster to the essence of the song. I hear clearly a warmer and wider (and very modern) sound. The tempo is higher. The songs feels like Len is on fire.Clubland: here we come!
The End Of A Reign mixes the old school Implant with the newer Implant sound. I adore it! I feel like Len is inventing himself again and building up his own sound brick by brick. In my fantasy that’s what this song is about: liberating yourself from the chains and finally being able to do whatever you want! I hope this one become a single! Feel the beats, undergo the tempo and dance on the dancefloor as if it’s lava!
Nothing Left To Give, Nothing Left To Take feels like a final note towards whatever is bugging Len and on top we also hear for the first time in this record the voice of Noemie Aurora. It’s a slow one, but somehow the message is clear: it’s the end and now we have to wait for the reboot!
I clearly feel the trilogy is growing and gets better (frankly: I expected maybe too much from the previous parts)! The global sound is wider, warmer, modern and well worked out! Some of the lyrics are a bit strange and needs a bit of an explanation, but I can fill the gap with my imagination too. I feel like I can’t wait for the next album as I notice things are getting better! It’s growing (in the best possible direction) as if Len is liberated from a heavy weight (hence I recently joked about it: we both lost finally some weight)! But I feel there is more to it then just loosing some real weight: it’s like the first step towards a complete reboot! And he’s on fire! This is the best in it's genre in 2025!
