Whispers in The Shadow is a gothic rock band from Austria that has never been afraid of writing songs or launching songs that might shock some or take position against certain realities that hurt people. Today they launch a David Bowie song that is also known from the clip with Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and has in it's origins already a political statement in it, today the message is actual & loud and clear!

Written by David Bowie & Brian Eno © Taken from the WHISPERS IN THE SHADOW "Yesterday Is Forever" Bonus Album, DISTANT THOUGHTS II - last few copies available here: https://whispersshop.bigcartel.com/

Plus Free Bandcamp Single incl. B Side THE BRAVE & THE BOLD.

I'm Afraid of Americans has kept the deep bass from the original and the poignant lead guitar. The thing that sound different are Ahsley's vocals: they sound more angry and heavier and fits this version like as if written for him. It doesn't happen much, but this time I can say it overpassed the original (and yes: I'm a David Bowie fan). I hope to hear this song one day on stage in this version! The apocalyptic feel comes back to life with this one and the band really did a great job! Next is a brand new track called The Brave and The Bold. The roaring bass and drums fight with the vocals. I feel a bit of a 70's sound in it (like in old black & white TV series). I think I can even see mister John Steed (with Emma Peel) passing by, hitting a vase and trashing a door. But it might be just my imagination!

Enjoy these songs and don't forget the message behind the main track!
