Karl Hefner & Hugh Lagerfeld: Disclike EP (Bandcamp)

Karl Hefner & Hugh Lagerfeld is an in Belgium based electronic duo. They launched a lot of tracks, performed in the past, but sadly it's the first time I review them and  I wish I would have started to follow them earlier on as they are really worth it!

The EP starts with a sweet, soft, electronic and almost dreamy cover version of The Mask (The Dark). Sam also plays guitar on this one. It's good and reminds me of the funtime with Ghünther Haegeman's other project Obverse Reality and o man, what do I miss his gigs so much! A higher tempo comes with In The House (Vantage Point). The music is great, catchy and ready for the dancefloor! Bad Taste (The Remnants cover) gets extra vocals done by Poema. She can sing and her voice really blends in with his voice. It's the best track on this EP and it really makes me enthousiastic about it! I also love the guitar lick on it! Last track is What Time Is Love? (The KLF). It's not the first cover I hear from this song, but it's the first one that litterally rebuilds the track and almost makes a new one from it! There are no vocals, the tempo is great and it has something cool in it! It's just hard to recognize the original track in it, but hey that means that this duo worked hard on making it their own song!
