De band die nooit meer een plaat zou opnemen blijkt nu toch van gedachte te veranderen. De formatie zou volgens diverse bronnen werken aan een nieuw album. Eerder al kwam de band opnieuw bij elkaar voor een grote tour te doen. RATM staat gekend omwille van hun ultra linkse positie maar het motief van hun optredens zou uiteindelijk zijn om het spaarvarken te vullen voor een nieuw album. De groep hun laatste album dateert van 2000.
De band werd echt bekend 19 jaar geleden toen hun lied "Killing In The Name" (1993) op nummer 1 stond in de UK.

Very good, we are all bigger and mature and you do not fall into the problems we faced 10 or 15 years. This is different and we project a lot: we are working on a new album due out next year, perhaps for the northern hemisphere summer."
