Returning once again with a high 80's, high retro feel and highly catchy synthpop banger, Echo Image delivers an enticing and exciting video for "Madsong"! Pål-Magnus Rybom and Linda Eikemo show us their true affection for 80’s cars and Tron-esque landscapes, and it fits the song perfectly!
Their 3 latest singles have steered Echo Image from synthpop towards synthwave, but still keeping their classic songwriting, topped with the vocals from Pål-Magnus that we all know and love! Their new video debuted on YouTube 15th. February, and a special pre-listen/download was available on Bandcamp from the 22nd. February. Finally, it all comes to fruition when the "Madsong" single is released onto all digital platforms and streaming services on the 29th. February!"
A new Echo Image album is in the works, but a release-date is still TBA, and might even flow into 2025, but the fact that Echo Image are back, writing songs and making videos is fantastic news!
The «Madsong» single is co-produced by Stephan Groth of Apoptygma Berzerk and mixed by Einar K. Five, both local veterans in the synth/electronica scene in Fredrikstad, so this is a purely Norwegian product, made with the help of local legends! It is also released on Pitch Black Drive, the label of Stephan Groth.
Madsong is a sweet and nice song with clear 80’s synth pop influences. The vocals sound cute and yet a bit melancholic. Sometimes it’s hard to imagine it’s a new song and not a hidden gem from the 80’s. I can’t think about better words to describe it!
