Driven by the melancholic vocals of composer/keyboardist/producer Inne Eysermans, the track unfolds into a magnetic soundscape. The dreamy atmosphere contrasts with Inne’s lyrics, penned in spring 2020 during the early days of the pandemic, and inspired by world events which made their way into her writing (environmental & political issues).

20/04 is the second single released ahead of Amatorski’s enchanting new album Curves and Bends, Things Veer — released on March 1, 2024 via Crammed Discs.

Amatorski is the pop vehicle for vocalist, musician, composer & producer Inne Eysermans. Released on March 1st, is the the follow up of From Clay To Figures — released 10 years ago on Crammed Discs. It finds her in top songwriting shape, creating enchanting melodies and soundscapes which are as mesmerising as ever.  Affected by unilateral deafness, which prevents her from perceiving stereophonic sound, Inne seized this opportunity to explore the possibilities of mixing in mono.

The experiences accumulated during the hiatus, as well as recent events such as the pandemic and the surge of activism related to climate change and to the Black Lives Matters movement have influenced the creation of the new album.

The title of the new album is taken from Timothy Morton's book All Art is Ecological, which explores the complex and nonlinear nature of reality. Unlike Amatorski's previous releases, Curves and Bends, Things Veer focuses less on interpersonal relations, it rather attempts to conduct a modest and subtle search for the relationships between humans and nature, time and phenomena. Other inspirations for the album came from Taoist poetry (translated by Ursula K. Le Guin) and the work of Anna Tsing, Donna Haraway, Karen Barad and others.

For the live shows, visual artist Winnie Claessens created miniature installations whereby (natural) objects, materials or textures are used. In collaboration with Lucas Van Haesbroeck, a scenography was developed with the installations, cameras and projections.
