Your Life On Hold - Lockdown EP (Bandcamp)

What do you do as an artist with a homestudio when you are in lockdown? Use your studio! It's a short EP, but I am told there is more to come if it goes on like this. These are dark times and our life is on hold, but we have to do it or we will deal with more dead people and stadiums filled with bodybags!

Your Life On Hold is a Belgium gothic rock band and in their country we have what the world calls a light lockdown, but still: people can only go on the streets for an important reason. The unemployment numbers are getting sky high, the number of people who die because of Covid-19 is already higher than the normal flue ...

Our life is on hold, for a good reason. Some people don't listen to what the government is saying and for that we all are paying a price. To soften it all we get music in order to keep us at home.

Here's a note from the band:

Release date: Friday, April 10th 2020

Dead Treefeatured in its original version on the second album My Name Is Legion For We Are Many released by Solar Lodge. We believe these ‘merciless versions’ are the ultimate incarnations of this song, bringing the track to a higher level.

I Can Feel Every Part is an intimate and melancholic take on a new track which will be featured in a totally different arrangement on the forthcoming album ‘Echoes From The Bardo’. The new album will be released by Solar Lodge shortly after summer.

The EP will also be available on all digital platforms like Spotify, iTunes, etc.

Desperation, depression, darkness, the no future feel … it all comes up when you listen to Dead Tree. This new version is still a soft song, but it extends the pain and all the bad feelings. The Merciless version (only available via Bandcamp) keeps the pain shorter but is as merciless as the title of the new version.

I Can Feel Every Part is a nice piano (stripped) version and will be on their next album but in the build up version. It’s a dark and very sensitive song. In the song it’s cancer that is killing him, but it’s not hard to imagine it could also be Covid-19! This version is very strong and shows that they can also bring a fragile song. This is for sure a wow momentum! I adore the strings in it too! I’m pretty sure they might even perform it on stage once we all get our vaccine!

Well the EP blow me out of my house and grasped my by my throat! This is a masterpiece! I can’t wait to hear the new album Echoes From The Bardo(viaSolar Lodge), but we will have to wait and see!
