Het HiRock festival heeft met spijt in het hart laten weten dat de editie voor 2014 op beide locaties geschrapt wordt. De hoofdreden hiervoor is dat er geen goede headliner gevonden werd en dat ze in 2015 volle 'paté' willen terugslaan. De organisatie wil geen deuk zien in hun financieel kader zodat het festival kan blijven voort bestaan.
Hiernavolgend het officële persbericht:
"We deeply regret, that the HiRock Festival at the Loreley and in Chiemgau will not happen in 2014. We won't withheld the reasons for that. As a festival we have the aspiration to present you a felicitous mix out of exquisite headliner and further high profile artists. Our efforts to enlist a headliner for 2014 and therefore realise HiRock as planned, were unavailing.
Since the ending of 2012 we put a lot of effort and time to initiate the label HiRock. It is still an important desire to establish and expand this festival and therefore offer an adult alternative to the existing festival landscape. We believe, that a true classic rock festival is wanted in these parts – a persuasion that established due to the dialoques with our fans in many ways. But this also implies, that we have to make a well considered retrograde step at some point, before we go two blind steps forward.
Therefore, we will "only" intermit the festival in 2014 and do everything in our power to go for a second round in 2015. Purchased tickets will be refunded at the respective box offices of course.
We didn't make the decision easy for us, but we are convinced that this step is the fairest. Many of you are in the middle of holiday planning and every day there will be more. We don't want to be an uncertain aspect in this anymore. We are in constant mail and phone contact with many HiRock fans and had to put all of you off from week to week. Of course, we will continue improving our communication, that’s a promise At this point we would like to thank you for your patience and trust.
In the hope that you hold your faith with us, we will devote this time until 2015 to gain headliner, that live up to the expectations."
