Blink-182 proudly present their anxiously awaited new album, ONE MORE TIME…, out now via Columbia Records. ONE MORE TIME… marks the first album to feature the group’s iconic lineup, Mark Hoppus [bass, vocals], Tom DeLonge [guitar, vocals], and Travis Barker [drums], since 2011.

The trio recorded ONE MORE TIME... across 2022 and 2023 in the midst of their blockbuster reunion tour, which sold out arenas, amphitheatres, and stadiums across the world. The album, produced by Travis Barker, features 17 new songs that capture the band at the top of their game, layering in themes of tragedy, triumph, and most importantly, brotherhood.

Blink-182 jump started this season back in April with a surprise last-minute headline set at Coachella. You could say a blink-aissance of sorts has ensued since then! Variety raved, “blink-182 brings rock back to Coachella in a big way,” and Rolling Stone attested, “blink-182 took us back to high school during throwback performance at Coachella.” Meanwhile, the 2022 reunion single “EDGING” has amassed over 70 million Spotify streams and counting.

Time for me to review this band for the first time and check if I can dig them and like them as much as I did yesterday with the launch of the newest Dog Eat Dog album (an absolute blast and top album).

ANTHEM PART 3: sounds short, sharp, a bit catchy and with nice vocals.

DANCE WITH ME has a very sticky chorus, is filled with energy and encourage you to dance along and do it all night long. I feel like this is definitely single material!

FELL IN LOVE has a melancholic touch, a cheesy feel and some auto-tuning set. Yet you can feel the energy, like in the start of spring after a hard and very cold winter.

TERRIFIED starts with a bomb and gets close to the newer sound of Dog Eat Dog, but the pudding implodes a bit after the explosive start. From time to time the power and the rage comes upfront, but somehow somebody decided it couldn’t last long and cuts it short time after time. I would have kept the energy high up and let the rage reign.

ONE MORE TIME sounds like a mellow ballad with a melancholic touch and a bit of a romantic feeling (strings included and a church bell).

MORE THAN YOU KNOW is a sharp but yet soft track where I get the feeling the song has the potential to become a real screamer and hard hitting track but it switches a bit too much from hard to soft to keep the fire going.

TURN THIS OFF! Is a short but explosive punk rock track.

WHEN WE WERE YOUNG is a melancholic punk rocker with a good tempo. According to me this is excellent single material and will be a hit once performed on stage!

EDGING has a slower tempo but sharp lyrics and good story telling.

YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’VE GOT is the kind of song that mixes melancholia with the vibe that will make people jump up and down during a gig and shed a tear in the meantime. Excellent songwriting! It's one of the best songs on this album!

BLINK WAVE is a sweet anthem with a very mellow touch and an 80’s commercial punk rock feel.

BAD NEWS sounds like a classic Blink-182 song with a grown up touch, a catchy chorus and mature lyrics!

HURT (INTERLUDE) is more then an interlude: it’s a short song and not a Nine Inch Nails cover but a short rocking song with a commercial sound.

TURPENTINE is not the happiest song on the album, rocks on with an excellent tempo and a sweet sounding chorus (despite the lyrics).

FUCK FACE is a short punk rager with a clear message!

OTHER SIDE gets back to the classic Blink-182 sound. The lyrics is clear, but the sound somehow gives it a positive touch.

CHILDHOOD starts gently and builds up the sound slowly. The tempo stays low with now and then an outburst. I adore the nice lyrics. It’s nice to look back at your own history and end the album like this!

Well the album is good. I didn’t hear much songs that are really as good as the songs from the new Dog Eat Dog album, but maybe that one put my expectations for this one way too high?
