It’s album number 6 out of 7 new albums for The Finnish monsters called Lordi. Each of these 7 albums have a different approach but are all linked to the 70’s and they also used gear from the 70’s to come as close as possible to the sound of the 70’s within the genre of each album.

SCG Minus 7 The Arrival: a scary intro that tells you that the monsters are coming (in a way that you expect zombies and other scary ones). Day Off The Devil sounds like recorded in the 70’s with an old school The Doors minded touch and a cow’s bell. More of the same comes with Starsign Spitfire. I was too young to remember much from that era, but it totally feels like recorded back then. Old school blues rock comes with Maximum-O-Lovin. Older people will absolutely adore it! It’s really cool to hear how good they play the old school instruments and still sound fresh and strong with these old instruments! The King On The Head Staker’s Mountain sounds a bit heavier with cool guitar solo’s and nice backings. This song feels like fitted for bikers and getting performed in a dark pub with people drinking beer and dressed in leather. Carnivore has great rambling and smoking hot guitars mixed with a slice of a The Doors sound. The cow bell sounds well and fits the song! Phantom Lady is yet another great retro song. Somehow it reminds me of American movies/series with bikers driving all around the city at night. The Tragedy Of Annie Mae sounds like a typical 70’s hard rock song. You wouldn’t expect a Finnish band to write and reproduce this sound as it’s again a more American kind of style. Blow My Fuse is a hot and steamy 70’s hard rock track that will be loved on stage! It actually could have been a hit from back then! Last one is called … And Beyond The Isle Was Mary and is an outro with only music in it (a piano and something that sounds like a sea breeze).

It’s cool to hear them with this kind of a retro sound. It’s cooler then the disco sound from the first album. I actually enjoyed it!
