What happens when you have one hour and you want to review something but have no clue what? Well I looked into a list with possibilities and got my soul sold to this one …

After the huge success of LEGIONS OF THE NIGHT’s debut album in the year 2020 during the pandemic, “Sorrow Is The Cure”, the Germany based Power Metal group now returns with the sophomore release “Hell”! The group still exists of Jens Faber (Dawn of Destiny, MalefistuM, ExoS), drummer Philipp Bock (Dawn Of Destiny” and sexceptional singer Henning Basse (Metalium, ex- Firewind, Mayan).

“Hell” continues exactly where the previous album has stopped – on this new release the typical Power Metal trademarks like huge melodies, powerful riffs and catchy choruses are present all over the released which is topped by an incredible performance of singer Henning Basse!

“Hell” once again was mixed by mastermind Dennis Köhne (u.a. Orden Ogan, Sodom, Lacuna Coil)!

Who will believe in Me starts with a fragile piano sound and suddenly explodes when the guitars shred in. The vocals go high and low, from soft to strong! There’s a lot of variation in the game play! It’s the perfect opening track as it shows directly what this band can do! Feel the pathos popping up towards the end and turn this song into an epic one!

Exit starts with a roaring sound and a high tempo, getting mixed with a piano, screams and a theatrical feel!

Hell is the title track and has a great overall sound, with lots of changes in the tempo. The chorus has something sweet and yet powerful.

Run Faster fits the title: it’s a fast song with lots of screams, rambling guitars, hard hitting drums and will work on stage to fire up the audience.

The Memory Remains is filled with pathos and melancholia. Halfway the end the tempo goes up and ends softly fading with with a fragile sounding end. I feel like this one will end in my playlist!

Fury is just like the title a rager that comes close to the most aggressive side of Iron Maiden! Yet another track for my playlist!

Save Us has a catchy sound and a good drive! Feels like fitted for gigs too!

And the World has lost this Fight mixes melancholia with fragility and gets opened by a piano but has also some raging moments. The end is almost sounding like an opera.

Demons has a good tempo, great vocals and is filled with pathos and theatrical elements.

Times Of Despair starts slowly with a piano and a fragile voice. It’s a magical ballad!

Our Bleeding is a great rager with rambling guitars and hard hitting drums. Once again the song has a tempo that goes up and down, but this time like waves on a stormy sea!

When the Crowds are Gone gets vocals that comes close to AC/DC whilst the music is filled with pathos and theatrical elements! It’s clearly a really great end song for this album!

Conclusion: in the end the whole album ends up in my playlist and the one of my son (as we are sharing our library). I heard clearly some MaYaN influences (the reason why my son loves it)! I adore the variation, the global sound, the melancholia and the raging parts … The global package is really top notch! Congratulations!
